VAZ-1111 Oka USSR Auto Legends

Back in 1981, specialists from the Serpukhov Motorcycle Plant (SMZ) and NAMI built the first prototype, the NAMI-0231, which was named Oka. Designers from KamAZ and VAZ later joined the development of the future Oka. The car was produced from 1988 to 2008, with around 500,000 examples built in total.

The Oka combined the concepts of a city car and a socially provided vehicle for people with disabilities. The VAZ-1111 used an inline, carburettor-fed, four-stroke, two-cylinder engine with overhead valves, producing 29.3 horsepower from 0.649 litres. The car's top speed was 120 km/h, and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h took 30 seconds.
