The car’s story

The Isotta-Fraschini Tipo 8 series comprises several models produced from 1924, beginning with the 8A. Production of the improved and more expensive Tipo 8B began in the early 1930s.

Thirty Tipo 8Bs were built. In 1931 it received an updated 7.4-litre, 160 hp engine and a Wilson semi-automatic gearbox. Initially, it had used a 7.3-litre engine producing 110–120 hp.

The final Tipo 8 was the 8C Monterosa prototype, shown at the 1947 Paris Motor Show. Only four were built, and financial difficulties forced the Isotta-Fraschini factory to close in 1948.
