The car’s story
The Lamborghini Murciélago LP670-4 SV continued the Murciélago line with its production 6.5-litre twelve-cylinder engine. Improved intake and exhaust systems, together with new electronic engine management, raised output to 675 hp.
This version was first shown in Geneva in 2009. Standard equipment included an e.gear sequential automated manual transmission, an advanced ABS system and carbon-ceramic brake discs. A conventional manual gearbox was available as a no-cost option.
Compared with the LP640, the LP670-4 SuperVeloce was 100 kg lighter thanks to new carbon-fibre bodywork, lighter suspension parts and reductions in the weight of the interior, transmission, ancillary equipment and engine. It accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reached a top speed of 342 km/h. Peak power was delivered at 8,000 rpm. The last of the 320 Murciélago LP670-4 SVs, finished in orange, left the Sant’Agata Bolognese factory’s assembly line in November 2010.
