ZIL-111G — Auto Legends of the USSR

After using his official car for just four years, Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev wanted it updated. Only 26 examples of the 111G were produced between December 1962 and 1967. The revised limousine inherited its predecessor’s 200 hp engine.

The styling, however, changed substantially. The characteristic overhangs and ridges disappeared from the front and rear wings, there were now four headlights, and the chrome bumpers became more substantial. The ZIL-111G was equipped with the first domestically produced air-conditioning system. Its distinctive red tail lights resembled jet-engine nozzles.
