Moskvich 408 (Twin Round Headlights)

This model has a four-headlight front end. Such cars were usually exported, though not exclusively. The Moskvich-408 had hydraulically operated drum brakes on all wheels and a mechanical parking brake acting on the rear drums.

The four-speed manual gearbox had synchromesh on second, third and fourth. Independent front suspension used coil springs, transverse arms, ball joints instead of kingpins and hydraulic dampers. The rigid rear axle had two semi-elliptic leaf springs and hydraulic dampers.
