01 / Honda
The car’s story
This 1:43-scale model has simplified detailing similar to partwork models. The headlights have no clear lenses and are merely painted silver. The rear light is a clear part painted red, with grey and yellow paint representing the indicators and reversing light. A nice touch is the Honda logo applied as a decal. The underside reproduces functional features of the original, some picked out in silver.
The steering wheel is on the right. The wheels are fairly elaborate, but there are no brake calipers or pads. The interior is unpainted, and the roof is painted black with minor flaws.
The real Honda NSX sports car entered production in 1990 and remained almost unchanged until 2005. Development began in 1986, with Ayrton Senna contributing alongside the Japanese engineers. The car was unique for its world-first aluminium body and chassis, electronic throttle and electric power steering.
Several engines were offered in the coupé. The most powerful was a 3.2-litre unit producing 290 hp.
