The car’s story
The legendary Miura is regarded as the quintessential Lamborghini supercar. It was first presented at the 1965 Turin Motor Show. Production of the improved, more powerful SV version began only in 1971 and continued until the supercar was discontinued in 1973.
Remarkably, a lack of funding meant the Lamborghini Miura was never tested in a wind tunnel. Driver and engineer Bob Wallace refined every aspect of its behaviour on the track. Designer Marcello Gandini of Nuccio Bertone’s studio also made an important contribution to its aerodynamics.
The Miura P400SV received an improved engine producing 385 hp. With a displacement of 3,929 cc, it provided a top speed exceeding 285 km/h. Acceleration to 100 km/h took no more than 4.8 seconds.
The model shown is in 1:43 scale and painted a vivid lime green. The paintwork is good and the body geometry almost accurate. The front lights are glass, whereas the rear lights are simply painted sections of the metal body. The wheels are well detailed, but the underside and its main components are represented only schematically.
